Marbella’s Golden Mile opens up a wealth of opportunities for the sports enthusiast. In fact, it is really quite surprising just how many activities are packed into this relatively small area, and in keeping with the Golden Mile’s renown as a high quality location for property and other leisure amenities, you can be certain that the same can be said of the array of sports on offer.
The Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa
The tennis courts at the Puente Romano are one of the resort’s best-known features and there are eight clay courts and two hard courts. When not being used by residents and guests for games of tennis, the courts host tournaments featuring famous players and music concerts during the summer. You will also find four padel courts and a gym at the Puente Romano, as well as the spa for some post-exercise relaxation and swimming pools as well. Golf is offered at the Marbella Club Golf Resort, some 20 minutes from the hotel in Benahavís. During school holidays there is a Sports Camp for children aged 8-16.

Nagüeles and Casablanca Beaches
Located next to the prestigious Marbella Club Hotel and also serving residents and guests at the Puente Romano, this beach provides the security of lifeguards and first aid on the spot. Sports activities available at the beach during the summer months include windsurfing and water skiing. Nearby Casablanca beach provides the same water sports.
Cycle or Segway the Paseo Maritímo
Bike rental companies are springing up all over Marbella and the new paseo that links Marbella through to San Pedro Alcántara provides an excellent route for some leisurely cycling. If you are a guest at one of the Golden Mile hotels, ask for details of bike rental or contact Marbella Rent a Bike. G2Move offers segway tours along this stretch of the Marbella beaches and is an increasingly popular activity for most ages. You will find one of their outlets in the gardens of the Gran Melía Don Pepe, near the stylish Cappuccino café. Alternatively, you can roller blade, skateboard or jog along this lovely promenade.
Yoga and Pilates
You will find yoga and Pilates classes at The Farmacy on the Golden Mile. Click here to find out more about The Farmacy’s range of yoga styles, including Vinyasa, Hatha and Power yoga classes plus qigong. Also ask at the Puente RomanoHotel about its yoga classes at the Six Senses Spa, some of which are held outdoors, with beautiful views of the Mediterranean.
Golf
The Golden Mile is well positioned for access to the many golf clubs in Nueva Andalucía, including Las Brisas and Los Naranjos, as well as the Marbella Club course used by the Marbella Club and Puente Romano hotels.
